Would you like to escape the monotony of the beige box? Do you long for a brighter existence? What is your color preference? I say, let’s embrace those gold jewels and bright colors, as well as pretty much everything glam!
It is likely that people who like mixing textures, patterns, patterns, and colors, along with tassels, trims, fringes, and so on, fall into the category of eclectic. The interior design style you admire and love is also a style I adore.

Eclectic Style: Where Did It Come from?
With the Eclectic maximalist interior design style, you can enjoy your home (and life) without worry. You have one rule: Do not follow it! While it is okay to use some lines or contrast, do not limit yourself to one specific shade or tone! Distinguished by a free-spirited style and a creative combination of colors, textures, metals, fabrics, patterns, and contrasts, eclectic interior design reflects the styles, moods, and personalities of the individual. Those who love colors are eclectic!
Recent projects I completed with clients on the west coast of the U.S. involved eclectic interior design. These two projects are shown below.
In keeping with Maddy’s profession and lifestyle as an artist and creative director, the space was designed to reflect these. It was a design I proposed. A second client, Lara, is also entrusting me with a project. She is a home office worker living in the US who appreciates anything colorful and extravagant.
Style Characteristics of Eclecticism
Combining the old and the new, the old and the new, the east and the west is an eclectic style. Mix and match everything together so that it looks connected and cohesive! This style also incorporates fabrics, accessories, details, and materials, in addition to colors and textures.
MINIMALISTS and Scandinavians are precisely the opposite of MAXIMALISTS, and it is the perfect synonym for MAXIMALISTS! What do you think of maximalists? Are you a fan of color? How do you feel about glamour and luxury? Here’s a look at their traits!
Decorating with Eclectic Colors
I’m having difficulty deciding where to begin and where to end! Eclectic style is all about color. It involves a lot of accents (not only one or two – but more than five, six, even seven accents are involved). These colors are some examples of emerald green, such as green, yellow, electric blue, magenta, and rust.
You must use them all together. It is certainly possible to use a neutral or a base so as to blend in. The focal wall could also be covered with wallpaper or decals, or it could be painted in an interesting color!
Don’t forget to repeat the accents to make everything look connected! Below is an example of green and yellow blended! It emphasizes the collaborative look of the space even more by adding gold accents to the tops of the furniture frames.
Materials for Eclectic Interior Design
Material selection heavily influences eclectic interior design. You can have marble, metal, or glass tabletops or metallic finishes on furniture, or crystals, mirrors, tufted upholstery, silks, velvets, acrylic, faux, or fur! Ethnicism is characterized by balancing contrasts between materials and colors.
It’s also a good idea to choose materials that accentuate your colors and give your outfit a more sophisticated appearance. Think luxury for your space. Satin, silk, and velvet are bold choices, while bronze, gold, and rose-gold tones should convey your style. Faux fur or faux leather can also add a touch of comfort to a throw pillow, blanket, or rug!
